Storyboard

For today, everybody spent the whole day doing the storyboard, location scouting and some sound effects/music gathering. I did the organising (which was a bit messy) of the storyboard, which is finally completed now. Making sure that each storyboard is clear and what we wanted, and did some final touch ups here and there for presentation tomorrow.

Walked around the school with Fa and Nurul to try to find places in school that we could use for filming. We didn't want to go too far due to time and also convenience. We asked the IxD peeps if they knew of any place that we could have as an office and they managed to ask one of their lecturers to lend us for filming (Very grateful!!!!!!!!!), so we have the place down on Friday from 1-5pm. The pantry, only concern is that Mr Danny has to be there. The only concern for location is the exterior of the office. I was finding the location for it during school hours (like leave earlier around 4 to find the exterior of the offices? If it works? I'm not quite sure).

As for my schedule, I did like a recap of what everybody has done so far throughout the day and what they needed to do. I added the remarks to show what we have done so far and our respective roles (not seen so far). Also, by default, everybody's a storyboard artists since everybody has contributed their works and making sure the shots were right. With Nicole's help, I managed to get the timeline of how we do stuff right, to avoid last minute rendering time, and we need to do our respective breakdowns and compositing, also we have to be well prepared for presentation. For week 2, we will do rendering over the weekend so for week 3 is more for the compositing and making sure everything is in place. 


So far, I also started on the call list and the equipment list.

These are the equipments that I had in mind so far:

50mm lens x 2
Zoom mic h26/24 (sort of forgot)
Standard lights x 3

I got to discuss with my group members to confirm the actor, equipment and location of the outdoor office shot which is the establishing shot of the film. However, I'm not quite sure if my VFX shot will be affected, as what if there isn't a need for set extension? Or we can't get the right location. That's my concern for the time being now. Perhaps tomorrow after the consultation with Mr Danny would work out, and see how things goes, then we will start on our Leica Reel. 

I still need to workout on the colour grading. For the first part of the film, our reference will be the conjuring, then slowly it will be shutter island and I can't remember the last one, but here are some photo references.

This is so far the references for the colour grading given by Vanessa and Moniykka, but it might be subjected to change.

Friday and Saturday(perhaps, for the toilet scene) will be our filming dates, hopefully it will be great so that 80% of our video editing is done over the weekend and on Monday when we meet up, we could edit the video and finalise and shoot the remaining shots, and focus more on our individual shots. I suggested having three video editors and 1 main sound editor and 1 main video editor. This way, our workflow is faster and the work is divided. Such planning much stress.
